Symptoms

Back-up mislukt met:

Unable to create snapshot. Unable to take a snapshot for virtual machine 'vm-24655' after multiple retry attempts. An error occurred while quiescing the virtual machine. See the virtual machine's event log for details.


Beoordeling van gebeurtenislogboeken van virtuele machines toont geen relevante fouten.

Virtual Machines vmware.log toont:

[msg.snapshot.quiesce.startfail] Failed to start quiescing operation in the virtual machine.


Het testen van een snapshot met het Quiesce Guest-bestandssysteem is voltooid maar geeft Quiesce Guest File System = No weer.
 

Cause

Het probleem valt buiten PPDM. Een soort interactie tussen VMware Tools en het gastbesturingssysteem.

Resolution

De-installeer en installeer VMware Tools opnieuw op de virtuele machine.

Een snapshot testen en controleren of Quiesce Guest File System = Yes.

Back-ups kunnen nu worden voltooid.
