Symptoms

Backup of AIX File system failing with ABA0002 error code

 

On the logs, the following error is seen:

errorMessage:  Ddfssv Error <16709>: DDRInstance::Invoke - ddrmgr write failure result code: 5046

Ddfssv Error <0000>: sendData: Failed write stream for new file data.

 

Cause

This is a corner case issue on the Data Domain side that will be fixed on DD Boost 8.0 version.

 

Resolution

There is no fix on Data Domain or Power protect, despite on the affected scenario, running the affected File System on a separate policy without overlapping backup has been successful.
