Dell Unity: Fornetix KMIP-server kan niet worden ingeschakeld (op te lossen door Dell)

Summary: Pogingen om een externe KMIP-server (Fornetix Key Management Interoperability Protocol) te configureren om D@RE sleutels van het Unity-systeem op te slaan en op te slaan, mislukken. De volgende foutcode wordt weergegeven: 0x7140900D en een bijbehorend foutbericht "De KMIP-serveractiveringsbewerking is niet voltooid." Fornetix KMIP-serversoftware was vereist omdat VMware ESXi 8.x-hosts in gebruik zijn en deze wordt uitgevoerd op een virtuele machine in de omgeving. De eindgebruiker had in eerste instantie geprobeerd Dell CloudLink KMIP-software van Dell aan te schaffen, omdat deze ook VMware-omgevingen ondersteunt. Vanaf maart 2023 is CloudLink software niet meer verkrijgbaar. De andere KMIP-serversoftware die is goedgekeurd in de Dell Unity e-Lab Navigator compatibiliteitsmatrix, draait niet in een VMware-omgeving. ...

Symptoms

KMIP-activering werd geprobeerd vanaf zowel de opdrachtregel als in Unisphere. Er zijn verschillende fouten weergegeven over het niet toevoegen van het 3DES-versleutelingsprotocol aan het primaire Fornetix CA-certificaat. Dit is vereist om het certificaat van de Fornetix KMIP-server naar de Unity-storage te importeren. 

De 3DES-fouten zijn opgelost, maar de KMIP-server is nog steeds niet ingeschakeld. 

De Unisphere-fout tijdens de configuratiepoging was: 
The KMIP server enablement operation did not complete successfully.  Please review the event logs and health status of the system. (Error Code:0x7140900d)

Unisphere toonde alleen het volgende in het gebeurtenislogboek: "Gebruikersdomein </gebruiker> heeft tevergeefs geprobeerd KMIP in te schakelen" na elke mislukte poging.
 

Cause

De logboekuitvoer van de Unity c4_sade_sm.log is gecontroleerd waaruit bleek dat de Fornetix KMIP-server niet wordt ondersteund voor Unity-storageproducten.

Resolution

Dell Engineering werd ingeschakeld en bevestigde dat Fornetix KMIP-serversoftware niet wordt ondersteund voor Unity-storage. 

Uit de Dell e-Lab Navigator Matrix blijkt dat Fornetix niet wordt vermeld voor Unity-producten.
