PowerFlex Replication initial copy report x5-10 times higher transfer size

Summary: During replication initial copy the size of the volume transfer might report x5-10 times higher than the actual volume size.

Symptoms

Scenario

When starting volume replication, the initial copy transfer of the volume might report x5-10 times higher than the actual volume size.

In this specific example, the volume size was 9 TB and initial copy transfer reported copying 45 TB.

Impact

 This is a cosmetic issue. There is no impact aside from the reporting of the larger than expected initial transfer size.

Cause

The issue has been identified as a software code defect with the calculation of the progress during initial copy transfer.

 

Resolution

There is no resolution currently.  This is a cosmetic issue and there is no impact.

The software code defect will be fixed in future versions.
