Live Optics | Optical Prime | Installed Applications Reporting

Summary: This article describes how to find and report the applications installed on particular servers (physical, virtual, or hypervisor).

Instructions

Prerequisite Information

You must have an existing Optical Prime project.

 

  1. Navigate to the Live Optics dashboard at https://app.liveoptics.com/home/
  2. Locate an Optical Prime project from the main dashboard screen, or click All Projects on the side of the screen to view the full list of projects. Open your chosen project. 
  3. Open your chosen project and click the Performance tab.

  4. Installed applications can only be reported for individual devices. Select a device from the device list on the left side of the screen. Then select the Installed Applications tab to view the applications installed on your chosen device.

Notes

  • Installed Applications are collected from Windows and Linux targets.
  • For vCenter, the ESXi server licenses are shown in the Installed Applications area (no third-party plugin software is listed).
  • Optical Prime recognizes and reports application inventory when communicating directly with the physical or guest OS. Application inventory is not reported on servers where data is gathered from a hypervisor manager (for example, vCenter).
