PowerFlex 4.x Upgrade the VMware vSphere distributed switch

Summary: This procedure is applicable if the VMware vSphere distributed switch is installed. If the VMware vSphere distributed switch is not installed, skip this procedure.

Steps

  1. Use the VMware vSphere Client to connect to the VMware vCenter server.
  2. Click Menu > Shortcuts, and click Networking. Select the PowerFlex management datacenter and VMware distributed switch that you want to upgrade.
  3. Right-click the DVswitch and select Settings > Export Configuration.
  4. Select Distributed switch and all portgroups.
  5. Enter a description and click OK.
  6. To upgrade the VMware vSphere distributed switch, right-click Distributed Switch and select Upgrade > Upgrade Distributed Switch. Select the highest version available.
  7. Select the appropriate highest version available for VMware ESXi version and click Next.
  8. VMware vCenter performs a compatibility check to verify that the connected hosts are compatible. Click Next to continue.
    The final screen summarizes the steps of the upgrade to the VMware vSphere distributed switch.
  9. Click Finish.
  10. Repeat steps 1 through 9 for all VMware vSphere distributed switches.
