Symptoms

RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3 SP4 Patch 1 Splitter vSphere Installation Bundle (VIB) non può essere installato quando Secure Boot è abilitato.

L'installazione di RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3 SP4 Patch 1 fallisce al 53% se gli host sono in modalità Secure Boot.
L'errore in Deployment Manager:

Cause

Lo splitter VIB di RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3 SP4 Patch 1 - RPESX-00.5.3.4.1.0.m.184.000 - non è firmato.
L'avvio protetto non è supportato con questa versione dello splitter.

Resolution

Lo splitter VIB di RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3 SP4 Patch 1 - RPESX-00.5.3.4.1.0.m.184.000 - non è firmato e non supporta Secure Boot.

  • Per gli ambienti vSphere 8.0 con RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3 SP4 Patch 1, Secure Boot non è supportato. 
  • Per gli ambienti vSphere 7.0.x con RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3 SP4 Patch 1, Secure Bootè supportato con lo splitter RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3.4.0.


Soluzione alternativa per vSphere 8.0.x:

  • Disabilitare Secure Boot sugli host ESXi.
  • Installare lo splitter di RecoverPoint for VMs 5.3 SP4 Patch 1 con l'opzione --no-sig-check :
esxcli software vib install -v /<Full_path_to_vib_file> --no-sig-check
