VxRail: How to upload files to the VxRail manager

Summary: This KB article provides instructions of how to upload files to a VxRail manager virtual machine.

Instructions

For a Windows personal computer, use WinSCP to upload files to the VxRail manager.

  • Start a WinSCP session, choose SFTP as the file protocol. (If your Windows personal computer does not have WinSCP installed, install it first.)
  • Input the VxRail manager IP as hostname.
  • Input "mystic" as username and input its password.

  • After the connection is established, navigate to your local file directory and upload the file to the VxRail manger "/home/mystic" directory.

For a Linux machine, use SCP command to upload files to the VxRail manager.

  • scp <local_file_path>/<file_name> mystic@<VxRail_manager_IP>:/home/mystic

 

For example, the below command uploads a file "Testupload.zip" under the local Linux machine "/tmp" directory to your target VxRail manager "/home/mystic" directory.
