Symptoms
Failover is successful without any issues.
Reprotect fails with the error: "Failed to sync data on replica devices. A storage operation requested on unknown storage device '<Dev_ID>'."
Also, the following warning is observed under 'discover devices' tab followed by a reprotect failure.
This warning is not observed before the reprotect operation.
Cause
The devices were not part of any Device groups/Composite (consistency) groups.
Resolution
The best practice is to use device group/composite group to maintain consistency and to ensure smooth running of SRM/SRA operations.
Post adding R1 and R2 devices to device groups, reprotect was successful.
