Symptoms

An error is reported when attempting to change Remote Management Console (RMC) settings on an Avamar Gen4T node:

ipmitool lan set 4 defgw ipaddr 10.0.0.1
Setting LAN Default Gateway IP to 10.0.0.1
LAN Parameter Data does not match!  Write may have failed.

Cause

The RMC port is not enabled on the Avamar Gen4T node.

This can be confirmed by running the following command as root:

Caution: Ensure that the syntax of the command is input exactly as shown below:
  
ipmitool raw 0x30 0xf9
00 00 00

All zeros indicate that the RMC port is not enabled.
