Symptoms

Alienware OC Controls always displays a 777 CPU speed.

Cause

During the update from Alienware OC Controls version 1.2.74.1238 to 1.3.0.1239, the AMDRyzenMaster driver is not installed correctly during the upgrade.

Resolution

Update Alienware OC Controls

Alienware OC Controls version 1.3.13.1300 or newer fixes this issue and it can be downloaded from the Dell Driver Site.


Registry Edit

If Alienware OC Controls still experiences this issue after the update to the newest version, the following Registry edit can be done.

  1. In the search box on the Taskbar, type regedit. Then, right-click Registry Editor (Desktop app) and select "Run as Administrator."
     
  2. Go to the following Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AMDRyzenMasterDriverV16
     
  3. Change the ImagePath value to the correct AMD Ryzen Master drivers path as picture below (Figure 1).

  4. Exit Registry Editor.
     
  5. Reboot the computer.
