Symptoms
Adding a new NTP server in Unisphere is failing with this error message:
Cannot create NTP servers. At least one of the specified NTP servers is not working (Error Code:0x6000840)The NTP server is known to work properly with other NTP clients and can also be pinged successfully from the Unity ssh shell.
Cause
The Unity is validating the NTP server and its time difference to the local time. During this process, multiple sntp requests are sent to the NTP server, which could reach the NTP server rate limit depending on the NTP server config.
This has been observed with EfficientIP SolidServer SDS-570 version 8.1.3a appliances for example.
