Data Domain: DDBMA stand-alone System DB TSQL backup failed with cannot determine path error

Symptoms

Only TSQL backups for system database are not working, other backups are all working fine.
From debug 9 log, we can see the following key error:

ddbmsqlsv: 11/03/23 17:04:21.986675    exit fullcanon(fullname=M:\xxx\SYSTEM\xxx\MSSQL\DATA\master.mdf)
ddbmsqlsv: 11/03/23 17:04:21.986675 fullpath(M:\xxx\SYSTEM\xxx\MSSQL\DATA\master.mdf): cannot determine path!
11/03/23 17:04:21 An internal error occurred.
ddbmsqlsv: 11/03/23 17:04:21.986675 fullcanon(name=M:\xxx\SYSTEM\xxx\MSSQL\DATA\mastlog.ldf)
ddbmsqlsv: 11/03/23 17:04:21.986675    exit fullcanon(fullname=M:\xxx\SYSTEM\MSSQL11.xxx\MSSQL\DATA\mastlog.ldf)
ddbmsqlsv: 11/03/23 17:04:21.986675 fullpath(M:\xxx\SYSTEM\xxx\MSSQL\DATA\mastlog.ldf): cannot determine path!
11/03/23 17:04:21 An internal error occurred. 
But we confirmed that the current user already has full permission for the M:\xxx\SYSTEM\xxx\MSSQL\DATA\ folder.

Cause

Although the current user has full permission for M:\xxx\SYSTEM\xxx\MSSQL\DATA\ folder, but still does not have full permission for the subfolders underneath it.

Resolution

Add full permissions for the current user to each directory in the path M:\xxx\SYSTEM\xxx\MSSQL\DATA\
