Instructions

 Note: External Users who intend to access or manage Licenses on the Digital Locker or the Software Licensing Central (SLC) [https://licensing.emc.com/#/homepage] are required to Register for a Support Account on https://www.dell.com/support. 
 
Account Creation Instructions: 

1. Navigate to https://www.dell.com/support and use the “Create an account” feature located under the sign in drop down menu.  
2. Follow the online registration steps. Make sure to fill in all required fields and use your business email address. 
3. Depending on your organization, you may be requested to provide additional information to help us set up your account.  
4. If you require access to EMC content and tools you will be prompted to complete your registration after navigating to support.emc.com or a Dell EMC portion of the site such as MyService360.  
 
If you are looking to access Dell To reduce delays in your account setup, please provide complete company name and address information as well as any other relevant information, such as a Product Serial Number. 
 
Internal Users who require access to the Software Licensing Central (SLC) [https://licensing.emc.com/#/homepage] should submit an Internal MyAccess Ticket to avail access to the Portal. 

 
START - Initiating License Rehost / Transfer from the Software License Central Portal: 
 
Begin by signing into your Software License Central Portal [licensing.emc.com/#/homepage] using your Registered User Account Details.

Step 1 - Once you’re in the Portal. Search your Existing licenses using the Licenses > View Certificate > Locking Id

Step 2 – Enter the DDVE Host Name and License Server IP address where your licenses are currently activated and needs to be moved.

Step 3 – Select the type of Rehost or Transfer à Existing DDVE or New DDVE

Select Option A – If I Need to move to the license to already existing DDVE.
  • Search your Existing licenses in the Search Machine Option and Select Next
Select Option B – If Its new DDVE or new node locking id with no licenses.
  • Create a New Machine with the new locking id on which licenses needs to be moved.

Step 4 - Enter the quantity you want to rehost (must be less than or equal to the “Available from Source” column) and any prompted machine details, then click NEXT: REVIEW.

Otherwise, you can select “Rehost All” to automatically prepopulate all the quantities.

Note: The machine details are dynamic and will only request information relate to the products being rehosted

Enter the quantity of entitlement that needs to be rehosted as shown below and proceed to select the type of environment UNSERVED.


Capacity and Version

Step 5 - Enter the new DDVE name and Node Locking id on which existing licenses needs to be transferred or moved.

Step 6- Be sure to review your selections thoroughly. Once you click NEXT: REHOST PRODUCTS the system generates the license keys.

Step 7 - This page confirms that the Rehost process is complete, and licenses are changed from Served to Unserved,
  • Download the license file via Save File.
  • If you want to view only select view license Key
Completion

Step 8- Completed - Click HOME to return to SLC home page or REHOST ANOTHER MACHINE to rehost another machine.
