Dell Plus Systems Show a 1 Amber and 8 White LED Error

Symptoms

While using the systems listed below, you may get a back screen, or the system will stop responding if you are not connected to AC adapter power. The LED flashes 1 time amber and 8 times white.

Affected Systems:

  • Dell 14 Plus DB14250
  • Dell 16 Plus DB16250
  • Dell 14 Plus 2-in-1 DB04250
  • Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1 DB06250

Cause

This behavior is caused by a BIOS issue.

Resolution

BIOS Update

A workaround is to plug the AC adapter into the system, and power the system on again. After the system powers on again, update to BIOS version 1.1.0 or later to fix the issue.
