NetWorker: NMC will launch due to Java Error "Application Blocked by Deployment Rule Set"

Resumen: When launching NMC on a client, a Java error pops up "Application Blocked by Deployment Rule Set". This is due to a DeploymentRuleSet.jar file still present on the system.

Síntomas

  • The NetWorker Management Console (NMC) fails to launch with the following Java security error:
Application Blocked by Deployment Rule Set
 

Causa

The previous Java uninstall left behind a file:

"C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment\DeploymentRuleSet.jar"

Resolución

On the NMC client, rename or remove the "C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment" directory.
