PPDM: vSphere Installation Bundle deployment fails with error code "ABV0032"

While deploying or updating PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) vSphere Installation Bundle for Transparent Snapshot Data Mover (TSDM), the configuration job fails with error messages similar to the following:

ABV0032: VM Direct Engine is unable to configure protection for the host "ESXi Host" on vCenter "VCenterName"

Under the error details section, error message similar to the following is reported:

Unable to install vSphere Installation Bundle on host "ESXi Host". vCenter task is failed with /usr/sbin/esxupdate returned with exit status: 15

On vCenter server, storage scan is required. Without that error messages similar to the following are reported in the "esxupdate" log file on the Broadcom ESXi host:
