Symptoms

The client wants to add a LUN into a Consistency Group. This (CG) - Consistency Group is replicated to a secondary Dell Unity.

Adding a LUN into a Consistency Group the below error is received:
The storage resource cannot be modified or deleted because it is participating in a replication session.   
  
Client does not want to delete the replication because it is an important production Database. 

Cause

If the client deletes the replication session. Create it again but first have to delete the LUNs and CG on the target. Each time the CG must be modified. A full sync is necessary (9 TB).

Resolution

Client is unable to add new LUN (to have more space) in CG configured with replication. Fulfills the same purpose by extending the existing LUNs in CG instead of adding a new LUN. There should not be an issue while extending the existing LUN.
