Online Source Installation:

Open the OpenManage Enterprise console in a supported web browser using administrator credentials.

  1. Go to Application Settings > Console Plugins.
  2. Verify that the Update Settings are configured appropriately for the environment. The appliance gets the update files from the configured location.
Note: Online source: Dell.com or using a network share NFS/HTTPS/HTTP
 
  1. Click the Refresh list button to dynamically pull updates if using Dell.com.
  2. On the Plugin list, select Install for the Update Manager Plugin. 
  3. Review and complete the installation wizard.
Caution: A snapshot of the Virtual Machine (VM) should be taken prior to installation of any plugin or update.
 
  1. The installation of the plugin starts after the download is completed.
Note: The appliance schedules the job and reboots the appliance. During the process, the appliance displays its current status in the browser window.
 
  1. Log back in to the appliance and confirm that the Update Management Plugin exists in the Plugins tab.


Offline installation:

  1. Go to Dell OpenManage Enterprise Plugin downloads 
  2. Download plugin_catalog.json, plugin_catalog.json.asc, and archives folders and copy them to an NFS-HTTPs share.
  3. Go to Application Settings > Console Plugins and ensure that Update Settings are configured to the local path.
Note: The format of the network share is NFS://<IP Address>/< Folder_Name>, http://< IP Address >/< Folder_Name >, or https://< IP Address >/< Folder_Name>.
  1. Refresh the update list, and select Install for Update Manager. Complete the installation wizard and allow OpenManage Enterprise to reboot to complete the process.
