Symptoms

Precision 7875 Tower may power on automatically and boot to the operating system. The issue occurs after the computer shuts down for a certain period of time.

Affected Platforms:

  • Precision 7875 Tower
  • Precision 7875 XL Tower

Cause

This is due to the Embedded Controller (EC) issue.

Resolution

Updating to BIOS version 01.06.02 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the BIOS, refer to the BIOS Update Guide.
