Data Domain: Error "SMS command failed: No interfaces found" from the DD CLI and GUI
Zhrnutie: Commands "net show settings" and "net show hardware" throw the error "SMS command failed: No interfaces found." The same error can be seen on the DD GUI as well.
Symptómy
Commands "net show settings" and "net show hardware" when run from the CLI (and when started by the GUI) may throw the error below:
SMS command failed: No interfaces found
For example:
SE@xyz## net show settings **** Error retrieving information (SMS command failed: No interfaces found).
SE@xyz## net show hardware SMS command failed: No interfaces found
Príčina
Known Cause #1:
The "user idrac create" CLI command causes iDRAC to be reset. The reset renames the iDRAC interface. This causes the DD to return the following error when the mentioned CLI commands are issued:
SMS command failed: No interfaces found.
Known Cause #2:
- Interaction with qLogic firmware/timeout defaults and heavy network traffic

Riešenie
Known Cause #1:
The issue is resolved in the DDOS 7.1.x code and later.
The workaround consists of restarting the Data Domain. Once the Data Domain has rebooted, interfaces once again can be seen and configured.
Know Cause #2:
This issue has tunable parameters introduced in DD OS 7.7.3 and DD OS 7.9+ .
Engage the Data Domain Support Team to assist with performing the parameter tuning.
