How to Enable or Disable Secure Boot for Wyse Thin Clients

  • Wyse 3040 Thin Client
  • Wyse 5070 Thin Client
  • Wyse 5470 Thin Client
  • Wyse 5470 All-in-One Thin Client

An administrator may either Enable or Disable secure boot for Wyse thin clients. For more information, select the appropriate process.

Enable

To enable secure boot:

  1. Power on the thin client and then press F12 when prompted to access the boot menu.
  2. Select BIOS Setup.
    BIOS setup
  3. Select Unlock.

  4. Populate the BIOS administrative Password and select OK.

    Note: The default BIOS administrative password is Fireport. The BIOS administrative password in your environment may differ.
  5. Expand Secure Boot and then select Secure Boot Enable.

  6. Verify Secure Boot Enabled is selected.

  7. Select Apply.
    Apply
  8. Optionally select Save as Custom User Settings, then click OK.

  9. Select Exit.

Disable

To disable secure boot:

  1. Power on the thin client and then press F12 when prompted to access the boot menu.
  2. Select BIOS Setup.

  3. Select Unlock.

  4. Populate the BIOS administrative Password and select OK.

    Note: The default BIOS administrative password is Fireport. The BIOS administrative password in your environment may differ.
  5. Expand Secure Boot and then select Secure Boot Enable.

  6. Verify that the Secure Boot Enabled selection is cleared.

  7. Select Yes.

  8. Select Apply.

  9. Optionally select Save as Custom User Settings, then click OK.

  10. Select Exit.
