症状

  • The NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI) server package is installed on a clustered system.
  • NWUI services intermittently fail to start.
  • Unexpected authentication errors appear when trying to access or log in to NWUI.
  • NWUI produces unexpected errors and warnings when performing admin tasks within the user interface.
  • There are no details in the NetWorker Cluster Integration Guide regarding configuring NWUI in a clustered environment.

原因

NetWorker engineering determined that NWUI (along with NMC) is not supported on clustered systems.

The nwuidb is stored on the shared /nsr installation path; however, the NWUI service is not controlled as a failover service. During a node failover, the nwuidb is moved from the running NWUI service to the new active node's running NWUI service. This can lead to nwuidb corruption and unexpected errors.

解决方案

The NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI) server and the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) server must be installed on a separate standalone server.

A Request for Enhancement (RFE) was filed to make NWUI a cluster aware service; RFE NW-I-2127. If you would like to add your site to this request and track it, reach out to your Dell Site Account Manager or Sales Representative.
