症状

An attempt to mount an Instant Access session resource as a VMFS Datastore to an ESXi host fails. The mount operation will fail with I/O Error with the message: vmkernel: <id> VM: <id2>: Failed to open device naa.<id3>. For example:
vmkernel: cpu15:1002554266)LVM: 15918: Failed to open device naa.68ccf0980030f55f58964665793bf8ee:1 : I/O error

原因

Instant Access for VMFS datastores is not fully supported.
PowerStore Native PowerProtect DD Backup Integration supports mapping Instant Access (IA) resources on Linux and Windows hosts. However, it has limited support on ESXi hosts. Instant Access operations on ESXi hosts for VMDK protection (VM level) is supported, but IA operations on VMFS protection (datastore level) is not supported.

解决方案

If access to data within a remote snapshot of a VMFS datastore is required, perform a retrieve operation on the remote snapshot and create and mount a thin clone.
