How to reset the password on a TL2000 or TL4000

The configuration of the TL2000 or TL4000 can be reset for security reasons or if it has been forgotten. This article details the steps necessary for this. Physical access to the device is necessary for this method.

Note: Restoring the factory configuration will delete all current settings and should be used with caution.

In this method, the user interface on the front bezel of the unit will be used to accomplish the reset procedure.

1. Reset password to factory default

Once the user interface has been located please use the steps below to reset the configuration.

1. Press enter (← ) to go to the main menu.

   

2. Press down to go to "Configure" and press enter.

   

3. In the configuration menu, press down to go to the next page and select "Save/Restore" by pressing enter.

   

4. Select "Restore Passwords" with enter

   

   or you can select "Restore all" with enter to reset the configuration to factory default
   
   
    
5. The device will ask for confirmation. Select "Proceed" to confirm password restore.

   

The factory default account login and password for an Administrator account is 

Account: admin
Password: secure

2. Network configuration after restore of configuration

1. Press enter (← ) to go to the main menu.

   

2. Press down to go to "Configure" and press enter.
   
3. In the configuration menu, press down to go to the next page and select "Network" by pressing enter.
   
4. Press enter on the IP Address option and select the address by pressig + e -:
   
5. After configure, save them by pressing "Save":
