Removing the Battery

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. Disconnect the battery cable from its connector [1] and release the cable from its routing channel [2]. Figure displaying how to disconnect the battery cable and how to release the battery cable from its routing channel.
  4. Perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the battery to the computer [1].
    2. Lift and push to remove the battery from the computer [2] [3]. Figure displaying how to remove the screw that secures the battery and how to release the battery from its place.
