Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. SD card

    2. base cover

    3. battery

    4. memory

    5. hard-drive assembly

    6. keyboard trim

    7. keyboard

    8. palmrest

    9. display-hinge brackets

    10. display assembly

    11. system fan

  3. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. power-connector [1]
    2. speaker [2]

  4. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis [1] and push the system board to release from its place. Figure displaying how to remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
