Removing the Power-Connector Port

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. keyboard lattice

    4. keyboard

    5. palmrest

    6. display-hinge cap

    7. display assembly

  3. Disconnect the power-connector port cable from its connector on the system board. Figure displaying how to disconnect the power-connector cable from its connector on the system board.
  4. Perform the following steps:
    1. Flip the computer.
    2. Remove the screw to release the metal bracket on the power-connector port [1] [2].
    3. Lift and remove the power-connector port from the computer [3]. Figure displaying how to remove the power-connector port from the computer.
