Backup and restore using avtar commands
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris clients can initiate on-demand backups and restores using the avtar command line.
NOTE Space limitations in this guide cause the examples in this topic to continue (wrap) to more than one line. However, you must type all commands and options in a command shell on a single command line (no line feeds or returns allowed).
