System Setup Options

NOTE: Depending on your computer and its installed devices, the items listed in this section may or may not appear.

Table 1. General
Option			Description
System Information			This section lists the primary hardware features of your computer. System Information Memory Information Processor Information Device Information
Battery Information			Displays the charge status of the battery.
Boot Sequence			Allows you to change the order in which the computer attempts to find an operating system. All the options are selected. Windows Boot Manager UEFI LITEONIT LCS-128M6S 2.57 mm XX GB. NOTE: XX refers to the size of the hard drive. You can also choose the Boot List option. The options are: Legacy UEFI (Default Setting)
Advanced Boot Options			Allows you to enable the Legacy Option ROMs during the UEFI boot mode.
Date/Time			Allows you to set the date and time.

Table 2. System Configuration
Option			Description
Integrated NIC			Allows you to configure the integrated network controller. The options are: Disabled Enabled Enabled w/PXE (Default Setting) Enabled UEFI Network Stack NOTE: This option is disabled by default. If you enable this option, the UEFI Networking Protocols that are available are installed, allowing the pre-OS and the OS networking features to use the enabled NICs. You may have to disable the Enabled w/PXE to use this option.
SATA Operation			Allows you to configure the internal SATA hard-drive controller. The options are: Disabled AHCI (Default Setting) NOTE: SATA is configured to support AHCI mode.
Drives			Allows you to configure the SATA drives on board. The option is: SATA-0 Default Setting: The drive is enabled.
SMART Reporting			This field controls if the hard drive errors for the integrated drives are reported during system startup. This technology is part of the SMART (Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) specification. Enable SMART Reporting — This option is disabled by default.
USB Configuration			Allows you to define the USB configuration. The options are: Enable Boot Support Enable External USB Port Enable USB 3.0 Controller Default Setting: All the options are enabled.
USB PowerShare			Allows you to configure the behavior of the USB PowerShare feature. The option is disabled by default. Enable USB PowerShare
Audio			Allows you to enable or disable the integrated audio controller. Enable Audio (Default Setting)
Unobtrusive Mode			When enabled, pressing <Fn> + <B> turns off all light and sound emissions in the system. Press <Fn> + <B> to resume normal operation. Enable Unobtrusive Mode By default it is disabled.
Miscellaneous Devices			Allows you to enable or disable the various on board devices. The options are: Enable Microphone Enable Hard Drive Free Fall Protection Enable Camera Enable Media Card Disable Media Card Default Setting: All devices are enabled.

LCD Brightness	Allows you to set the panel brightness when the ambient sensor is Off.

Table 4. Security
Option	Description
Admin Password	Allows you to set, change, or delete the administrator (admin) password. NOTE: You must set the admin password first if an admin password is used with a system password and/or Hard Drive password NOTE: Successful password changes take effect immediately. NOTE: Deleting the admin password automatically deletes the system password and the hard drive password. NOTE: Successful password changes take effect immediately. Default Setting: Not set
System Password	Allows you to set, change or delete the system password. NOTE: Successful password changes take effect immediately. Default Setting: Not set
Internal HDD-0 Password	Allows you to set, change, or delete the administrator (admin) password. Default Setting: Not set
Strong Password	Allows you to enforce the option to always set strong passwords. Default Setting: Enable Strong Password is disabled.
Password Configuration	You can define the length of your password. Min = 4, Max = 32
Password Bypass	Allows you to enable or disable the permission to bypass the System and the Internal HDD password, when they are set. The options are: Disabled (Default Setting) Reboot bypass
Password Change	Allows you to enable the disable permission to the System and Hard Drive passwords when the admin password is set. Default Setting: Allow Non-Admin Password Changes is not selected.
Non-Admin Setup Changes	Allows you to determine whether changes to setup option are permitted when an administrator password is set. The option is disabled. Allows Wireless Switch Changes
Computrace	Allows you to activate or disable the optional Computrace software The options are: Deactivate (Default Setting) Disable Activate NOTE: The Activate and Disable options will permanently activate or disable the feature and no further changes will be allowed.
CPU XD Support	Allows you to enable the Execute Disable mode of the processor. Default Setting: Enable CPU XD Support
OROM Keyboard Access	Allows you to set access to enter the Option ROM Configuration screens using hotkeys during boot process. The options are: Enable (Default Setting) One Time Enable Disable
Admin Setup Lockout	Allows you to prevent users from entering Setup when an Administrator password is set. Default Setting: Disabled

Table 5. Secure Boot
Option			Description
Secure Boot Enable			Allows you to enable or disable the secure boot. The options are: Disabled Enabled (Default Setting)
Expert Key Management			Allows you to manipulate the security key databases only if the system is in Custom Mode. The Enable Custom Mode option is disabled by default. The options are: PK KEK db dbx If you enable the Custom Mode, the relevant options for PK, KEK, db, and dbx appear. The options are: Save to File–Saves the key to a user-selected file Replace from File– Replaces the current key with a key from a user-selected file Append from File– Adds a key to the current database from a user-selected file Delete– Deletes the selected key Reset All Keys– Resets to default setting Delete All Keys– Deletes all the keys NOTE: If you disable the Custom Mode, all the changes made will be erased and the keys will restore to default settings.

Option			Description
Multi Core Support			This field specifies whether the process will have one or all cores enabled. The performance of some applications will improve with the additional cores. This option is enabled by default. Allows you to enable or disable multi-core support for the processor. The options are: All (Default Setting) 1 2
Intel SpeedStep			Allows you to enable or disable the Intel SpeedStep feature. Default Setting: Enable Intel SpeedStep
C States Control			Allows you to enable or disable the additional processor sleep states. Default Setting: Enable C states.
Intel TurboBoost			This option allows you to enable or disable the Intel TurboBoost mode of the processor. Default Setting: Enable Intel TurboBoost
Hyper-Thread Control			Allows you to enable or disable the Hyper-Threading in the processor. Default Setting: Enabled
Rapid Start Technology			This option allows you to enable or disable the Intel Rapid Start feature which improves battery life by automatically putting the system into a low-power state during Sleep after a user-specified amount of time. Intel Rapid Start Feature Transition to Rapid Start when using timer Default Setting: Both fields are Enabled

Table 7. Power Management
Option	Description
AC Behavior	Allows the computer to power on automatically, when AC adapter is plugged. The option is disabled. Wake on AC
Auto On Time	Allows you to set the time at which the computer must turn on automatically. The options are: Disabled (Default Setting) Every Day Weekdays Select Days
USB Wake Support	Allows you to enable the USB devices to wake the computer from standby mode. The option is disabled. Enable USB Wake Support
Wireless Radio Control	Allows you to control the WLAN and WWAN radio. The options are: Control WLAN radio Control WWAN radio Default Setting: both the options are disabled.
Wake on LAN/WLAN	This option allows the computer to power up from the off state when triggered by a special LAN signal. Wake-up from the Standby state is unaffected by this setting and must be enabled in the operating system. This feature only works when the computer is connected to AC power supply. Disabled – Does not allow the system to power on by special LAN signals when it receives a wake-up signal from the LAN or wireless LAN. (Default Setting) LAN Only - Allows the system to be powered on by special LAN signals. WLAN Only LAN or WLAN LAN with PXE Boot
Block Sleep	Allows you to block the computer from entering into the sleep state. Option is disabled by default. Block Sleep (S3)
Peak Shift	Peak Shift minimizes AC power usage at times of peak demand. Option is disabled by default.
Advance Battery Charge Configuration	Advanced Battery Charge minimizes battery health while still supporting heavy use during the work day. Option is disabled by default.
Primary Battery Charge Configuration	Allows you to change the battery charge configuration. Adaptive (Default setting) Standard ExpressCharge Primarily AC Use Custom NOTE: Battery settings may not be available for all battery types. To enable this option ‘Advanced Battery Charge Mode’ must be disabled.
Intel Smart Connect Technology	This feature allows your system to periodically sense nearby wireless connections while the system is asleep. Default Setting: Enabled

Table 8. POST Behavior
Option	Description
Adapter Warnings	Allows you to activate the adapter warning messages when certain power adapters are used. The option is enabled by default. Enable Adapter Warnings
Keypad	Allows you to choose one of two methods to enable the keypad that is embedded in the internal keyboard. Fn Key Only (Default Setting) By Numlock
Numlock Enable	Allows you to enable the Numlock when system boots. The option is enabled by default.
Fn Key Emulation	Allows you to match the <Scroll Lock> key feature of PS-2 keyboard with the <Fn> key feature in an internal keyboard. The option is enabled by default. Enable Fn Key Emulation
Fn Lock Options	This option when enabled allows the hot key combination <Fn> +<Esc> toggle the primary behavior of <F1> – <F12> between their standard and secondary functions. Fn Lock Hot Key (Default Setting) Standard (Default Setting) Secondary
Fastboot	Allows you to speed up the boot processes. The options are: Minimal (Default Setting) Thorough Auto
Extend BIOS POST Time	This option creates an extra pre-boot delay. This allows you to see the POST status messages. 0 seconds (Default Setting) 5 seconds 10 seconds

Table 9. Virtualization Support
Option	Description
Virtualization	This option specifies whether a Virtual Machine Monitor (VMM) can utilize the additional hardware capabilities provided by Intel Virtualization technology. Enable Intel Virtualization Technology (Default Setting)

Table 10. Wireless
Option	Description
Wireless Switch	Allows you to determine which wireless device can be controlled by the wireless switch. The options are: WWAN Bluetooth WLAN All options are enabled by default. NOTE: For Windows 8.1 Operating System, the Wireless Switch option is directly controlled by the OS driver. So, this setting here does not affect the Wireless Switch Behavior .
Wireless Device Enable	Allows you to enable or disable the internal wireless devices. The options are: WWAN Bluetooth WLAN All options are enabled by default.
Lid-Mounted Wireless Activity LED	This field allows you to control the wireless activity LED mounted on the lid of the system. Always Off Led Indicates Wireless Activity (Default Setting)

Table 11. Maintenance
Option	Description
Service Tag	Displays the Service Tag of your computer.
Asset Tag	Allows you to create a system asset tag if an asset tag is not already set. This option is not set by default.
