Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Using a phillips screwdriver to turn the side panel latch to the unlocked position.
Pull the release latch to release the side cover from the system.
Push the latch and release the side cover from the system.
Lift the side cover away from the system.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue.
Hold the top air shroud at the grip points and pull it upwards out of the system.
Heat Sink
Identify the heat sink highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Push the four retaining clips inwards to unlock the heat sink assembly from the system board.
Lift the heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video).
Processor
Position the heatsink as shown.
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Slide outwards and release the lever from the securing clips on the CPU carrier.
Pull the securing clips on the CPU carrier and release the processor.
Slide the processor out of the CPU carrier.
Install
Processor
Position the heatsink as shown.
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Align the processor.
At an angle, slide the processor on the CPU carrier.
Push the processor gently and lock the processor to the securing clips on the CPU carrier.
Close and lock the lever with the securing clips on the CPU carrier.
Heat Sink
Identify the heat sink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the heat sink assembly on the system board and align with screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heatsink to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Pull the four retaining clips outwards to lock the heat sink assembly to the system board.
Air Shroud
Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue.
Align the top air shroud over the heat sink and system board.
Install and press the top air shroud down until the tabs click into place.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs with the slots and install the side cover on the system.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to turn the side-panel latch to the locked position.
