This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Riser 1 and a PowerEdge R730. The procedure will also include removing the System Cover, Cooling Shroud and reinstalling them.
Removal
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Rotate the latch release lock counter clockwise to the unlocked position.
Open the latch on the system cover
Slide system cover toward the back and using the latch lift system cover up from system.
Cooling Shroud
Identify the cooling shroud highlighted in blue
Holding the touch points, lift the cooling shroud away from the system.
Riser 1
Identify the expansion card riser 1 highlighted in blue.
Holding the slots on the expansion card riser, lift the riser from the riser connector on the system board
Install
Riser 1
Identify the expansion card riser 1 location highlighted in blue.
Align the guide rails on the riser with the standoffs on the side of the system
Lower the riser into the system until the riser connector engages with the connector on the system board
Cooling Shroud
Identify the cooling shroud location highlighted in blue
Align the tabs on the cooling shroud with securing slots on the system, then lower the cooling shroud into the system until firmly seated.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue
Align the slots on the system cover with the tabs on the system.
Push the system cover latch down. The system cover slides forward and the slots on the system cover engage with the tabs on the system.
Rotate the latch release lock clockwise to the locked position.
