Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover from the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover along the gap formed near the display hinges.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the fan, along with its cable, from the palm rest assembly.
WLAN Antenna Module
Identify the antennas highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the WLAN thermal plate to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the WLAN thermal plate from the palm rest assembly.
Pull up to disconnect the I/O board cable from the connector on the system board.
Unroute the I/O board cable from the routing guide over the antenna cables on the palm rest assembly.
Peel the coin cell battery from its slot and unroute the cable from the routing guide on the palm rest assembly.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless card.
Peel the tapes that secure the antenna cables to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screw that secures WLAN antenna module to the palm rest assembly.
Unroute the antenna cables from the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Lift the antenna module along with its cables from the palm rest assembly.
Install
WLAN Antenna Module
Identify the antennas location highlighted in blue.
Route the antenna cables through the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Align and place the WLAN antenna module into the slot on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screw that secures the WLAN antenna module to the palm rest assembly.
Adhere the tapes that secure the antenna cables to the palm rest assembly.
Adhere the coin cell battery to the slot and route the cable through the routing guide on the palm rest assembly.
Route the I/O board cable through the routing guide on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the I/O board cable to the connector on the system board.
Connect the white cable to the main (empty triangle).
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (filled triangle).
Install the WLAN thermal plate on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screw that secures the WLAN thermal plate to the palm rest assembly.
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the fan, along with its cable, onto the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the fan cable on the system board.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
