How to replace the Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230 on a Alienware Aurora ACT1250

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230 and a Alienware Aurora ACT1250. The procedure will also include removing the Left Side Cover, SSD SSD 2230 and reinstalling them.

Removal

Left Side Cover

1. Place the computer in an upright position as shown.
2. Identify the left side cover highlighted in blue.
3. Loosen the captive screw that secures the left side cover release latch to the chassis.
4. Pull the left side cover release latch to release the left side cover from the chassis.
5. At an angle, lift the left side cover from the chassis.
6. Place the computer in horizontal position as shown.

Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230

1. Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
2. Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
3. Slide and lift the SSD from the system board.

Install

Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230

1. Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
2. Slide and insert the solid state drive into the slot on the system board.
3. Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.

Left Side Cover

1. Place the computer in an upright position as shown.
2. Identify the left side cover location highlighted in blue.
3. Align the tabs at the bottom and tilt the left side cover toward the computer until it clicks into place.
4. Tighten the captive screw that secures the left side cover release latch to the chassis.
