How to replace the Wireless Module (WLAN) on a Precision 3680

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Wireless Module (WLAN) on a Precision 3680.

Removal

Side Cover

1. Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
2. Loosen the captive screw that secures the side cover to the chassis.
3. Pull the release latch to release the cover from the chassis.
4. Lift the side cover from the chassis.

Air shroud

1. Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue.
2. Hold the air shroud at the gripping points and Pull the air shroud upwards and out of the computer.

Install

Air shroud

1. Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the air shroud over the heat sink and system board holding and place it in the slot.
3. Press the air shroud down until the tabs secure into place.

Side Cover

1. Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
2. Align with the tabs and install the side cover on to the chassis.
