Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Using your thumbs or a scribe, loosen from the back along the rubber bumper.
Loosen from the back and sides to remove.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the battery connector bracket.
Slide and lift the battery connector bracket off to remove.
Use the pull tab on the battery power cable to disconnect the battery cable from the battery connector
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue
Remove the screw that secures the solid state drive to the system board.
Slide and lift the thermal shield to remove it from the system.
Holding the sides of the module, slightly lift and slide the SSD out.
Install
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue
Align the notch on the SSD with the tab on the slot and slide the SSD into the slot.
Slide the solid state drive thermal shield into place.
Install the screw that secures the thermal shield.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Align the connector and push down to connect it to the system board.
Slide the hook of the bracket under the board and align the screw hole.
Tighten the captive screw to secure the bracket.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Install the base cover and snap into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover. (requires Torx #5)
