Removing the Display Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. optical-disk drive

    3. access panel

    4. hard drive

    5. memory module

    6. keyboard

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Lift the tab and disconnect the display assembly cable [1] [2].
    2. Unroute the display assembly cable [3].
    3. Unroute the WLAN cable [4].

  4. Remove the hinge screws that secure the display assembly to the computer. Figure displaying removing the screws that secure the display assembly.
  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Lift the display assembly [1].
    2. Slide the display assembly in the direction indicated to remove it from the chassis [2].
