Removing the Hard Drive

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. access panel

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect the hard drive cable from the system board and lift it up to remove it from the computer [1,2].
    2. Remove the screws that secure the hard drive to the computer [3].

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Lift the hard drive to remove it from the computer [1,2].

  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the hard drive to the bracket [1].
    2. Lift the hard drive from the bracket [2].
