Removing the Display Panel

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. battery

    2. optical-disk drive

    3. access panel

    4. hard drive

    5. memory module

    6. keyboard

    7. system board

    8. display assembly

    9. display bezel

    10. display hinges

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display panel to the display assembly [1].
    2. Lift the display panel to access the cables underneath [2].

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the tape that secures the eDP cable to the computer [1].
    2. Lift and remove the eDP cable [2].

  5. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Disconnect the eDP cable from the computer [1].
    2. Remove the display panel from the computer [2].
