OME v2.3 fails to install on Server 2016-- returns ODBC driver error

We tried to install OME v2.3 on a fresh Server 2016 install and it failed with an ODBC driver error.

Server 2016 was installed using the current MSFT image for std server 2016

X21-30350 (released 1/31/2017)

We are aware of the issues with the installer getting hung on aspects of ASP .NET, but worked around that by installing ASP .NET from Server Manager, not through the Dell Prerequisites.

This is a default local install, using the SQLExpress database installed by Dell OME.

There was no problem installing OME 2.3 on a fresh server 2012R2.

Error message occurred during the final install of OME (after SQLExpress had been installed)

Message [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBMSLPCN]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Anyone know how to work around this?

OME v2.2 also failed in the same manner on Server 2016

After I performed an upgrade of the Server 2012R2 VM that has OME 2.3, converting it to Server 2016, Dell OME continued to function.

Thus the problem is only with installing OME on Windows Server 2016.

I would request you to get in touch with Dell Support. They can take a closer look and guide in right direction. Sensing something specific with this system only.

I am successfully running OME v. 2.2.0.2056 on Windows Server 2016 Standard (v.10.0.14393), however when I upgraded to version 2.3 it totally hosed OME and I has to rebuild it again from scratch.  So I'm not upgrading until whatever bugs are worked out of it...  I recommend the same to you.

Yes, this application needs some debugging by Dell.

Shivendra--  What would be the phone number for support on Dell OpenManage Essentials?
