dell 4550. cpu upgrade
hi, i was wondering what my 4550 1.8ghz computer can go up to.
i was on here before and some said i can go up to 3.0ghz.
so i was planning on going to a 2.8 but then i heard mine can only go up to a 2ghz?
so can some one really help me?

If you have a 533MHz FSB then you can go up to the 3.06GHz CPU. This is ~$240. While the 2.8GHz is a little slower, it might be the better value at ~$170. Starmicro.net is one of the few sites left that carry these models.
If you have a 400MHz FSB then you can only go up to a 2.8GHz CPU.

ya i found a 2.8ghz for i think 170. so im probally going with that one. i mean 2.8-3.3 or so dont have THAT MUCH of a difference.
