An Error occurred while ejecting DVD drive in the laptop

DVD Drive not opening with button and error while ejecting through eject option Hi all. My DVD drive won't open by pressing the button. I press the button and it does nothing . If I select eject on the drive via laptop in Windows it still not working. I assume it's not a hardware problem or else it wouldn't respond ever. I have uninstalled the driver and let Windows reinstall it on startup and still get the issue. Any ideas? Computer - Inspiron 15 3000 series Win 10

Does the light come on when you press the button to eject? If so then you have power. Have you tried ejecting the drive by inserting a paperclip in the manual override hole (there is one..look carefully). Does the drive eject using a paperclip? It is possible that the drive is defective. The drive can be detected in Device Manager and look like it is fine but still have a hardware problem causing it to not eject. Also try running system diagnostics. Restart the system and at the Dell splash screen start tapping F12. Run full system diagnostics.
