Dell inspiration 3542 hard drive issue
Hi
Problem:
Dell inspiration 3542 intermittently freezes.
Diagnose & Attempts to fix
run F12 diagnostic tool, failed on hard drive test.
run chkdsk, it may fix a few days/weeks, then issue came back
event viewer showing large number of disk errors
Question:
Do you think I shall replace hard drive or run some other repair tools ?
If so,
1. what are recommended steps?
2. how to keep windows 10 without having buy a new license?
Your kind help will be highly appreciated
Regards
Peter

A 2.5" SATA solid state drive is likely a better idea to replace the dying hard drive.
Windows can be reloaded easily; the license key is embedded on the system board.
