Inspiron 17 5000 Series slow download/fast upload

I have an Inspiron 17 5000 series and am having an odd problem with a new internet service.

My old internet provider gave me 40 Mbps maximum download and 5 Mbps max upload and this Dell laptop did that just fine.

A new fiber internet service is in and offers up to 1 GB download/upload speeds. This laptop can't do better than 10 Mbps on this new service... but can upload at 300+ Mbps. Other devices using this Wi-Fi on the new fiber internet are routinely showing 300+ Mbps download and upload. I tried a direct ethernet connection for the Dell laptop and got the same (10 Mbps or less download/300+ Mbps upload) speeds.

I'm thinking there's some compatibility issue between the Dell's Qualcomm wireless adaptor card and the fiber internet. How can this laptop routinely do the 40 Mbps max from my old service and not be able to draw faster than 10 Mbps off a new service offering up to 1 GB? Not making sense to me.

Wondering if it's the fault of the Qualcomm wireless adaptor card and could it be replaced?

Thank you!

It's getting to be a broken record situation but do you have Smartbyte installed? If so uninstall and disable it otherwise it will auto download.

This did not work

After remote help for 4 hrs from Dell I was advised to return my new Inspiron 17

Can anyone advise before I return for repair tomorrow?
