DELL LAPTOP supportting 1280x1024 resolution

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a laptop model that can support exactly the 1280x1024 resolution?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

You need to check several model lines to see if the screens will support this resolution. Unfortunately, may of the De,ll models no longer specify the resolution in the customization sections, so you will need to go to the on-line manuals to see what the specifications are. I think you will probably need to be in the new XPS series, the multimedia laptops, in order to get this. The XPS line will allow at least 1080 vertical resolution for HD display.

Hye,

Thanks for the quick answer, unfortunately i couldn’t find the "technical guide" of the XPS series, do you have the link?

Thanks.

The new XPS models will be available in several weeks, so the manuals are probably not available. You need to go to the purchase section and read the video options. However, I looked and found none met HD resolutions. The 17" was 900 and the 15" was 720 DPI. The Inspiron series is similar. The AlienWare series does have options for 1080 DPI, but the cost is high.

I think it is not good that Dell no longer supplies as an option the higher resolution screens. I have two older Dells. One has a 1680x1050 screen and the other a 1920x1200. I would never go to the current low resolutions, 720 or 900 DPI.

1280X1024 is not a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is where most notebooks now fall.  4:3 is still available on some external monitors, but you're not going to find it on many notebooks these days.
