XPS m1530 and HDMI issue

Hello

Lots of people had problems with no sound via HDMI... i have totally different issue - I dont want any sound via HDMI, but via my X-FI card only. In other words:

- video is sent to TV via HDMI

- sound is sent via X-Fi

I can't find any solution... Disabling HDMI in control panel doesn't help, disabling Sigmatel drivers also doesn't solve problem...

My TV "sees" sound-avability on HDMI and doesn't allow to have input via RCAs (chinches), but when I connect HDMI and sound to another computer (desktop), there's no problem, but there TV is connected to DVI via converter (8800GTX) and sound is played correctly via RCAs.

Any ideas ?

Greetings - Thomas

I think what he is saying is to use the HDMI to DVI connector to connect your XPS to your TV, that will strip the audio signal out of the data stream, then you can connect your audio however you want.  You might need to buy 2 HDMI-to-DVI connectors to return the connector at the TV to HDMI.  The signal quality will not be changed if you use good connectors and a good DVI cable between the computer and TV.

Buy a DVI -> HDMI connector.  Connect that to laptop's DVI port.  Next, connect the X-Fi to the TV's proper input (optical, I'm guessing?).

You're not using a receiver?
