2007FP vs 2007WFP vs 2007FPW
I got a 2007FPW 20" monitor deal last week but they sent me a 2007FP (1600x1200) by accident, should I keep the square or get the widescreen, I don't game or watch movies at all, just use it for work, I noticed dell sells the FP for $415.65 & FPW for $367 (not sure how the 2007WFP is different from 2007FPW),
Thanks in advance

I have the widescreen (it's cheaper) and I use it for DTV via internal card. For PC use, the extra width is handy in some apps, or I use it for IM & a small TV window. Basically it's a 17" LCD with extra width. The 2007FP is pretty huge though. Have a look here:

which states '2007WFP' and click the 'Customize It' link it takes you to that '2007FPW' page. I think it's a mistake, and that the Google results are caused by misunderstanding and/or oversight.

1680x1050 is the 20" "Widescreen" monitor's resolution
1600x1200 is the 20" Non-Widescreen monitor's resolution
Do the math, and that is 1,764,000 pixels for the widescreen
and 1,920,000 for the non widescreen. A differance of 156 thousand pixels.
Most content is 4:3, especially websites and Television (Hi-Def boxes let you choose aspect ratio. They give you a choice of 4:3, 1:1, and 16:9) in other words, the uses for 16:10 are EXTREMELY slim. The 2007WFP monitor only goes up to 720p which is a resolution of 1240x720 (or is it 1024..the important part is the 720) when watching television, which means that you will be scaling up once to fit the height, and then again to fit the width (Because the signal is 16:9, and your monitor is 16:10) now, if you had the non-widescreen FP, you'd be able to fit 4:3 TV (Most TV programs) in it's native aspect ratio, which is generally better for image quality.
Personally, I went with the widescreen because it fit my budget. If I had a choice (at the same price) of widescreen or non-wide, I'd go for the non-wide, for the simple fact that it has more pixels, more screen area, and I don't even mind black bars on the top and bottom (though most video players stretch the video to fit anyway these days)
What you recieved there is a free upgrade, enjoy it. Or don't and send it back. Same difference.
