SP220WFP FLAT PANEL MONITOR
I just bought this monitor and am trying to figure out how to show full monitor display in high resoluiton instead of the widescreen. I tried image settings, but I could only get low resolution to fill the display. Would appreciate help. kimord

The monitor should auto adjust in DVI and VGA to 1680 x 1050 at 60Hz. or in your case the maximum resolution for your model number.
1680 x 1050 at 60Hz (or in your case the maximum resolution for your model number)is the highest and the recommended resolution that will give the most desktop area and the clearest view of text and all.
If it doesn't auto adjust, look in the video card properties to manually set it to
1680 x 1050 at 60Hz. or in your case the maximum resolution for your model number.
How to find that will depend what video card you are using.
Generally in XP right click desktop>left click properties>left click far right settings tab>left click advanced tab> monitor tab>find monitor resolutions list.
It also depends if your using XP, Vista or a Mac.
In the On Screen Display Menu set it to Fill and it should be OK as long as you selected 1680 x 1050 in video card settings first. :) or in your case the maximum resolution for your model number. or maybe you left the 8 out of your model number and it is SP2208WFP.

Also press your menu button on your monitor, look at the bottom and tell me what the resolution is there, should be 1680x1050 60 Hz. If you see that, and it's at 32bit color in the other tab then it's at top performance settings.
Whether your video card can do that resolution or not is another matter, I think it can, but post here what you see.

If you are only going to use the SP2208WFP then choose use a single monitor, select SP2208WFP, not both and don't set up dual view.
Yep if you using both :)
That will tech me to assume only one monitor. :)

or
Try this and let me know the results -
* A message appears stating that the OSD and buttons are locked
* Press the volume decrease and channel up buttons on the monitor simultaneously
-or-
* Press the channel up and volume increase buttons on the monitor simultaneously
* A message appears stating that the OSD and buttons are unlocked
Those are from other posts here and it's probably not in the manual, even though it should be.

ATI Mobility x600 ?
Is your monitor connected to a notebook?
If so you need to configure dual display settings in Display Properties.

I use dual view or clone in GeForce nVidia's. My GUI won't be the same as yours.
If you are using the laptop and 2208 at the same time be sure to set it to dual view not clone. Dual view will let you set the resolutions independently of the laptop LCD and the SP2208WFP. Look in video card properties to set up two monitors. That's probably why you are stuck at such a low resolution on the 2208 you are only getting what that laptop lcd wants to do as the primary monitor.
If you are only going to use the SP2208WFP then choose use a single monitor, select SP2208WFP, not both and don't set up dual view.
ALSO POST HERE what worked to unlock that menu.
I'll assume it was holding the menu button down for 20 or 30 seconds :)

http://ati.amd.com/products/mobilityradeonx600/specs.html
Your card should do this spec. 1680 x 1050 at 60 Hz if it can do all that below:
"Visual Display Flexibility
* Flexible and easy-to-use interface for multiple display settings
* LCD-EE™ display engine allows for support of the latest high resolution and wide-screen notebook displays such as WUXGA (1920x1200) and QXGA (2048x1536).
o Improved scaling of desktop resolution to full panel sizes
o Improved video quality through compensation for LCD latency
* 165 MHz integrated TMDS transmitter, for support of DVI Digital Flat Panels at up to UXGA resolution (1600x1200)"
Also:
If you are using the laptop and 2208 at the same time be sure to set it to dual view not clone. Dual view will let you set the resolutions independently of the laptop LCD and the SP2208WFP. Look in video card properties to set up two monitors. That probably why you are stuck at such a low resolution on the 2208 yoou are omnly getting what tha laptop lcd wants to do as the primary monitor.
