U2720Q, two different firmware and bits

Hi,

Last year I bought a U2720Q to use with my M1 Mac Mini. This year I bought another one of the same monitor and attached it to my Mac.

New U2720Q connected via HDMI while the old U2720Q is connected via TB3.

Anyway, after waking up my Mac, the U2720Q that I bought last year shows 2160p 30-bit and the new U2720Q says 2160p 24-bit.

Also the old U2720Q firmware version shows as M2T101 while the new U2720Q shows M2T103.

How can I update the firmware of my old U2720Q monitor?

Why does one says 24-bit while the other one is 30-bit?

Thanks in advance.

Good evening!

See also my forum post: https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/U2720Q-monitor-differs-in-firmware-from-2nd-U2720Q/m-p/7989060#M136192

Did you have any luck by contacting Dell by phone?

Hi, just fyi, there now appears to be an update for the U2720Q available to version M2T105. It requires connection to a windows computer via USB and, in my experience, takes quite a while to apply. I found it here:

An update to M2T105 is now also available on MacOS. This enables the use of Dell Display Manager (DDM) on MacOS as well.
