I can reduce the noise by disabling the C states in the BIOS. However, in order to keep the CPU cooler during the idle, I keep the C states enabled all the time.
I got my Precision 7550 (Dec 2020) and it has got this coil whine issue.
Low coil whine sound if keyboard/keypad/mouse/camera is not in use.
Sound increases when keypad/mouse/camera is in use.
The first problem I found was with the headphone would have blasting static noise and no sound from video. Some automatic update fixed that (like under the table) without me reporting. All I got was a notification from Windows that an update might have fixed a sound problem :s.
This is actually not looking good considering what I read on other posts. If it is mother board issue as mentioned in other posts then Dell must do the refund. I would not want any repairs :(. This was suppose to be the best of their line laptops in business category yet it has 8 year old problem Dell is struggling with.
aaly90, in my case, a Dell technician performed an on site inspection of my Precision 7750. The technician replaced the heat sink, because it raised a thump noise during the cold boot. Regarding the coil whine issue, the conclusion of the inspection was that "the system is working as designed"...
aaly90, actually, my iGPU NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 is turned off all the time. I just don't need the iGPU at the moment. However, in my case, it doesn't matter if the iGPU is turned on or off. I can hear the coil whine noise in both cases.

I had in mind dGPU (dedicated GPU) not iGPU (integrated GPU).

Hi! I think that I have a similar problem with my Precision 7750:

I can reduce the noise by disabling the C states in the BIOS. However, in order to keep the CPU cooler during the idle, I keep the C states enabled all the time.

Thanks or the reply,
Did they arrive to any solution for this? considering this is a 2600 euro laptop, this is really annoying!

Maybe it is the Nvidia card?
They replied to me that this is not supposed to happen (not normal) but it should not affect work.

Must be something else then, I give up on this noise, it is a defacto of Dell 7550 then.

Not a defecto of Dell 7550 but rather defecto of DELL, as its been around for more than 7 years occurring in multiple series.

I've got a brand-new Precision 7550 with exactly the same issue. It's really obnoxious. @aaly90 have you pursued this with Dell any further?
